As the reinsurance world turns its attention to the September RendezVous, the Verisk SBS team is also looking forward to meeting clients and friends in Monte Carlo.

There are so many market issues to be discussing, and we look forward to getting into them with you.

Digital trading is becoming an integral part of the global insurance market, but sometimes it seems that we’re the only people talking about reinsurance as part of that.

Embracing technology enables many firms to adopt strategic options that had not previously been possible, and move into new areas that complement their existing expertise. That is where Verisk SBS is supporting our customers.

Through organic growth and acquisition, we have built up a strong portfolio of products that are being brought together in new market solutions across policy and distribution platforms. We’re bringing products and different elements of functionality together to create entirely new solutions for brokers and underwriters.

While Verisk SBS offers a huge range of placing digital distribution and policy platforms, our focus in RVS conversations will of course be on a few topics of key relevance to the reinsurance market: digital follow, augmented underwriting and digital strategies.

  • Augmented Underwriting enables firms to speed up risk selection while underwriting to their portfolio strategy, on their D&F book. Built on Verisk's industry leading product stack that simplifies the underwriting triage and analysis steps, it is the next step forward in understanding risk and facilitating strategy. Key insights from Verisk's data sets generate a normalised view of risk giving the underwriter the knowledge and understanding to refine their craft.
  • Digital follow allows for the automation of follow lines on portfolio facilities. This enables reinsurers to work with broker follow facilities or digital consortiums, which historically have involved prohibitive administrative and operating costs. An automated digital follow facility also brings huge benefits in terms of data usage -- data from every single risk can be collected, aggregated and used to support more effective capital management. In addition, probabilistic modelling can be overlain onto those data sets when the facility renews, again reducing time, effort and room for error.
  • Digital strategies for reinsurers - look out for our next blog to learn more about this!

Richard Reggel, Chief Commercial Officer; Reid Stanway, Chief Digital Officer; and Kirstin Duffield, Chief Executive Officer of Morning Data, a Verisk business, will be present at the RendezVous and look forward to meeting with you - you can arrange a time to chat with a member of the team below:
